Notes and Asides
Issue date: 2/22/08 Section: Notes & Asides
Now, we don't like to ruffle delicate beaurocratic feathers, but we have a reminder for the campus. We are here to obtain an education, first and foremost. Which is proven by the papers we write and the tests we take; which we should prepare for, using as much time as possible. Ergo, we humbly suggest that the powers that be return the reading day to its proper existence. Because sitting through another discussion about what will or won't be on the test will really help us pass. Right.
Students have promised to look out for their friends over spring break and got free t-shirts for their troubles. We find giving clothes out for things people should be doing already is an interesting concept. Send your gently worn donations to Housing Services, 160 Cardinal Hall, The Catholic University of America.
The Housing Lottery was held this Thursday. We hope you enjoyed your stay here at the Catholic University of America, and we remind you to remember all of your personal possessions as you exit the premises. Oh, and mind the freshmen on your way out. Buh-bye.
As a promotion for the movie Indiana Jones which comes out later this spring, The Tower has been sent a replica of the whip from the movie. We get it. We'll get our act together and get whipped into shape. It arrived yesterday and has resulted in numerous bruises, hurt feelings and production delays. Couldn't they have sent it on Friday?
Word is, the side of the architecture building is being renovated because Pope Benedict will make his way down that alley during his visit to campus in April. The Pryz Great Room is also getting an upgrade. At this point, we would like to request that the Holy Father's route be adapted so that he also swings by some other ugly parts of campus that could use some sprucing up. In fact, let's just have him do a quick lap around the entire campus. We're sure he's up to it.
